Deploying desktops in a business environment is not an easy task.

Rolling out large numbers of desktops manually is no longer a sensible way to proceed. It is a very time-consuming and labor-intensive process, and can thus also be very expensive. Furthermore, there are a number of things that can go very wrong if you act in haste. Existing applications might not be compatible with new operating systems; users might lose important documents and personal settings; the current infrastructure might not yet be ready for the rollout or for the new operating system. In short, there are a number of pitfalls which could cost a lot of money...

For many years, Xylos has collaborated in a close partnership with market leaders Altiris and Microsoft in the field of deployment. Through the use of Altiris Client Management Suite and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, each deployment can be largely automated and centralized, which means that the rollout can become considerably more cost-effective as well as being an extremely uniform, manageable process.

In addition, a successful deployment results in a completely standardized desktop environment with a uniform workstation for all users, which has an extremely positive impact on support costs. Each desktop that is rolled out using Altiris or Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager technology can also be managed from a central web-based console offering functions such as remote control, software distribution, automatic inventory backup, and local data restore.
