The HP Enterprise Virtual Array (EVA) can be considered as the standard with regard to Storage systems for medium-size, large and heterogeneous environments.
The EVA is ready for its second generation. Thanks to the Fibre or FATA Disks it is possible to expand the capacity to dozens of terabytes.
However the most important element is that the EVA is completely based on virtualising capacity. This means you no longer need to know beforehand how much capacity a particular Server needs, this can be adapted dynamically and 'on-line'.
EVA-Controllers ensure the processing of all Data Transfer, but also have Snapshotting and Cloning functionalities at their disposal. These technologies are extremely useful for Test and Backup purposes.
EVA systems - at different locations near and far - can also be linked to each other so they are each other's carbon copy and are therefore prepared for the worst-case scenario.
