• Citrix XenApp is the de facto standard when it comes to 'Server Based Computing' solutions. Applications are made accessible via a central "server farm", which minimizes the importance of the local processing capacity and bandwidth and simplifies the management even further.
  The latest version has rapidly evolved and therefore an upgrade is highly recommended. Citrix XenApp is available for both Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 in 32-bit or 64-bit versions.
• Citrix Access Gateway is a universal SSL Appliance which gives users access to all applications and protocols in a safe and uniform way.
  The Access Gateway is installed in the DMZ and secures all traffic via the SSL standard.  Remote users connect via a simple web interface.
• Citrix XenDesktop offers virtual Windows desktops to users according to the VDI principle. Users approach the desktops in the same way as XenApp sessions with a Citrix client that uses the ICA protocol. One advantage of Citrix XenDesktop occurs when applications do not work well together on a XenApp server or when the user wants the option to work off-line. Here, Citrix offers the best experience for end users, as does XenApp.
• Citrix Provisioning Server allows you to stream a Windows server or desktop to a physical or virtual machine. Although Provisioning Server is available separately, it is still an essential part of XenDesktop which enables the supply of hundreds of desktops based on one image. The result is efficient management and a significant saving on storage.
