Unexpectedly, Microsoft recently updated the Skype for Business 2015 Debugging Tools version from 6.0.9319.73 to (well, numbered) 7.0.1678.1.1.
We noticed an error while installing Skype for Business (SfB) on Windows Server 2016, when we installed the SfB debugging tools.
Also, before you reinstall 6.0.9319.73 you’ll need to add VC++ 2015 Redistributable, version 14.0.23026 and update it (then it will be 14.0.23026, date 03/07/2017). Download it here.
You can then go ahead and reinstall the older of the SfB debugging tools. Download it here.
After doing this start the CLS Logger as an administrator and everything should work fine.
Looking at the version number you could guess it’s accidentally leaked from the rumored on-premises “vNext”. Microsoft will probably solve this issue during one of the following patches on SfB debugging tools and Windows Server 2016.
