Don't expect us to tell you to innovate,
we'd rather show you how

Xylos doesn't need to convince you that the world has changed dramatically, and that this demands constant versatility and flexibility. It is obvious when you talk to customers, partners and suppliers every day.

We prefer to use our energy to inspire entrepreneurs and organisations. We show you how we put our in-depth knowledge of new technologies into practice every day, to recognize and create opportunities and added value.

This is what Xylos Inspire represents. This is a day when we look forward to meeting you again – for the tenth time.

Following our keynote speaker Nicklas Bergman, strategic advisor to European Commissioner Carlos Moedas and the European Innovation Council, there will be twelve breakout sessions where you'll discover how Xylos responds to the latest developments. You'll also be able to see how three of our clients were able to successfully implement various aspects of digital transformation in their organisation.

After the sessions, you are invited for drinks during the award ceremony, followed by dinner

Customizing Office 365 to suit your organisation

Workplace

In recent years, the way we work together has changed dramatically, or it sure feels like that. But has it really changed that much? Are there more efficient alternatives for organizing meetings?

This session demonstrates what collaboration means in Office 365. We are talking about mobile apps, teams, bots, powerful analytics... Useful and powerful tools customized for collaboration in your organization.

Speaker: Thomas Vochten, Solution Architect & Microsoft MVP, Xylos / Mario Van de Velde, SharePoint & Office 365 Technology Consultant, Xylos

Trendspotting in app land

User

Personalization is an emerging trend. Not only in applications, but for consumers as well. During this session, you will discover the latest developments in the world of apps and online experiences. Consider, for example, applications with geolocation, an all-around experience of before and after video events, and the evolution in technology (from native to progressive web apps).

Umicore: a safe and smooth collaboration with Office 365

Case

Umicore is a world player in materials technology. Safe and smooth collaboration from different locations is a necessity for this organization. Xylos developed the Umicore Online roadmap: a program that enables the organization to migrate to a completely new user platform based on Microsoft Office 365.

Umicore aims to use the new platform to create new ways for collaboration, added value in the workplace, new incentives for creativity, improved knowledge sharing and more efficient collaboration. All this in line with the Umicore 2020 vision, IT mandates and goals to support growth. At the same time, the cost of investments in hardware, maintenance, support and licences will decrease.

Together with you, we look at our approach to the program, the different phases of implementation and lessons learned.

Speaker: Marleen Van Den Bergh, Director Business Applications, Umicore / Mario Van de Velde, SharePoint & Office 365 Technology Consultant, Xylos

From unstructured (IoT) data to predictive information via public cloud building blocks

Digital

Connecting devices, telemetry and collecting raw data are just one step towards an IoT solution. In this session we go one step further: you will learn more about how to transform raw data into relevant real-time information.

To do this, we use a modular platform developed by Xylos that contains Azure components, such as IoT Suite and Cortana Intelligence Suite. For quick results, the platform is automatically rolled out to your organization's Azure environment. In addition, we show you how to use new, mobile, and web applications as well as Office 365 components such as Power BI to visualize data.

Speaker: Geert Baeke, Technology Manager, Xylos / David Biot, Competence Center Lead Intelligent Cloud, Xylos

The unified workplace: a productive organisation is flexible and mobile

Workplace

In order to be successful today and have satisfied employees, your workplace needs to evolve in line with our daily reality. The concept of one device per employee no longer works in a rapidly changing world.

As an organization, it is necessary to tailor your IT infrastructure needs to your main customer: i.e. your employees. They determine your organization’s success, but their expectations and needs have changed dramatically. The one size fits all principle where every user is given one device, is outdated. Users now want access to their data and applications from any device, regardless of location.

In this session, we will first focus on a new IT model: the unified workplace. As an IT organization, it allows you to switch seamlessly between environments, based on the current needs of your users. You will then be able to see how Microsoft and Citrix respond to this and how Xylos can help you to set up a unified workplace in your organization.

Speaker: Kurt Callens, Competence Center Lead Unified Workplace, Xylos

How Office 365 narrows or widens the digital user gap

User

Every day, Xylos consultants observe that technology is evolving faster than the working methods used by employees. As a result, useful new features remain unknown and potential efficiency gains go unused. A digital user gap has been created.

During this session we will introduce you to the close-the-gap method. Or how to better link personal productivity to new technological capabilities and functionalities. Office 365 and Windows 10 are good examples of this. In reality, employees only use a mere 10 to 15% of the capabilities. Be inspired by a new, fresh approach.

Speaker: Peter Coppens, Business Unit Manager Learning, Xylos / Tom Van ’t Veld, Business Productivity Advisor, Xylos

Mediahuis: flexibility is the latest data storage trend

Case

Mediahuis is a leading multimedia group in Belgium and the Netherlands. With the acquisition of Telegraaf Media Group (TMG) and the contribution of VP Exploitatie as the third shareholder, Mediahuis has taken a huge leap along the path of growth strategy.

In order to manage the growth as flexibly as possible, Mediahuis, in consultation with Xylos and HPE, signed a new data storage solution. This is a solution that can spread dynamic data across four storage tiers, and in two synchronized data centres. Backup integration with Veeam allows all types of data in the environment to be stored quickly and safely, independent from the site where the source of data is located. Any workload can now be rolled out quickly and efficiently. A solid foundation provides a sound solution, top-down and bottom-up.

During this session you can find out about the new IT foundation Mediahuis is using to prepare for the future.

Speaker: Robin Pauwels, ICT Infrastructuur Manager & Services, Mediahuis / Michael De Bruyn, Competence Center Lead Infrastructure, Xylos
