The success of SharePoint within your organization depends entirely on how well the site is managed. Consistent navigation, prompt security management, efficient use of metadata and a transparent structure determine whether your end users will enjoy using the site or not. During this SharePoint course you will learn all about the management features in SharePoint at site level, but most of all you will be given tips and best practices about how to configure your own site.

Objectives

After completing this SharePoint course, participants:

  • are aware of the functional domains of SharePoint;
  • are familiar with the most important SharePoint concepts (such as site, document library, list etc.);
  • are able to create a new site based on the correct template;
  • can adjust and optimize navigation within the site;
  • know the correct way to protect SharePoint content;
  • are able to configure the SharePoint document management functions correctly;
  • can create and configure lists;
  • know how to add metadata to lists and libraries;
  • are aware of the concept of content types and are able to create and manage their own content types;
  • know how to add web parts to pages and configure them, including the new Search Query parts;
  • are aware of the most important concepts concerning the SharePoint search feature and can manage these;
  • are able to work with and configure the built-in workflows.

Target Group

This SharePoint course is aimed at end users who are responsible for managing a SharePoint site. They would typically have Design or Full Control (administration) rights at site level.

Prerequisites

Participants must have a sound basic knowledge of SharePoint as an end user (navigate, upload documents, use views etc.). The acquired knowledge must be of a level that is equivalent to the course SharePoint for end users: Collaboration & Doc. Management.
