Xylos supports BASF Antwerp in renewing and managing part of its OT infrastructure

Xylos renews and manages part of the OT infrastructure of BASF Antwerp, the largest chemical production site in Belgium.
19 - 10 - 2026

BASF Antwerp has chosen Belgian managed service provider Xylos to renew and manage part of its Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure. This concerns the systems that run applications that are important for production. BASF Antwerp is the largest chemical production site in Belgium.

Xylos will modernise the underlying server, storage, network and virtualisation environment. Through managed services, Xylos will also take on monitoring, maintenance and day-to-day operational support. Implementation starts soon.

Why BASF Antwerp chose Xylos

Xylos’s proximity as a local tech partner weighed heavily in that choice. The deciding factor was the combination of demonstrable quality and a pragmatic, flexible approach. That quality is reflected, among other things, in Xylos’s ISO 27001 certification.

For the project, Xylos brings together its expertise in infrastructure, data platforms and managed services. The focus is on reliability, security and operational continuity. Working closely with the BASF team, Xylos is preparing this OT environment for the years ahead.

Patrick Leysen, CEO of Xylos

“At a site like BASF Antwerp, nothing can come to a standstill. The fact that BASF relies on Xylos for part of its OT infrastructure once again proves what we have been doing in managed services for years: keeping systems running, securely and reliably, day and night. We are proud of that, and we look forward to continuing to build together with the BASF team.”

Technical complexity and operational responsibility

Frank Dierckx, Partner Alliance Manager at Xylos

“What makes this project special is the combination of technical complexity and operational responsibility. We are renewing several infrastructure layers and bringing them together in one secure OT environment. That requires a well-considered approach and close collaboration with the BASF team, and that is what makes this project so interesting for us.”
